Favourite Toys

Are your chis emotionally attached to certain toys?

My chis have a huge box of toys, but the truth is they each have a favourite and rarely play with the other toys unless the favourites are hidden or in another room (which they can't access at the time). lol

Rocky's favourite toy is Eager Beaver, or as everyone calls it now 'the toy formerly known as Eager Beaver'. No matter how messed up it is, he insists on carrying this 'thing' around. It's the only thing he wants to play fetch with and he even sleeps cuddled up to it. He loves it so much that I just can't throw it away. :laughing5:

Beaver, then and now.

In Lilo's case, her favourite toy has been Mr. Fox since the first day we brought her home, nearly 3 years ago. The fox was a toy that belonged to our previous chihuahua Coco and it's the cutest thing because Lilo never ever destroyed it. She carries it everywhere in the house with her and even Rocky (who destroys toys) knows that touching Mr. Fox is forbidden. lol

Gotta love these quirky little dogs!

I don't think Archie has a favourite. Mr Bear is now called Miss Humpy.. For reasons that it is getting very abused!
Even if you say "wheres your toy?" He bring miss humpy over but never touching it!!
He does also have Miss fluffy humpy but she's currently in for repair.

OMG this is such a sore subject with Gizmo right now. Finley and Tink have never gotten overly attached to any one toy, but Gizmo...my lord. His best friend in the whole wide world was Lamb Chop. If Lamb Chop was in another room and he couldn't get him, I'd hear Gizmo chirp while I was getting ready for work - and yes, I do mean chirp. He has various chirps, but I knew his "I can't get my Lamb Chop" chirp. At night, Lamb Chop had to come to bed with us. He wouldn't go to bed without him. Absolutely adorable.

And then Finley decided he was going to chew on Lamb Chop. Lamb Chop had already been through 50 million surgeries over the years, was pretty rough looking as it was - face falling off, one leg amputated - but Finley wouldn't stop. So I finally had to throw Lamb Chop away about a week and a half ago. AND NOW I FEEL SO TERRIBLE!!! Gizmo spent about three days looking for him - you can always tell when Gizmo is in "find Lamb Chop" mode. He's slowly accepting that he's gone, but he still looks for him now and then and I feel so so horrible!!

Oh that's the sweetest thing. Chad's favourite toy for the last 5 years is Eeyore and he always knows where he is. He sleeps with him and takes him out in the yard when he suns himself. Eeyore is his constant companion and just like Lilo's Fox, the other dogs don't touch him. Before Eeyore there was Cow. I made the mistake of replacing Cow but but new Cow was rejected and bits of 'old cow' are still carried around sometimes.

LOL we bought Gizmo a new Lamb Chop for his last birthday too, expecting that OLC's (original Lamb Chop) time was coming to an end. I'm talking, the exact same stuffy, but new. Wouldn't have it. Even now, with OLC gone, he has no interest in replacement Lamb Chop.

Dogs are weird lol.

So so sweet :) that last photo is adorable!
Ziggy has his favourite toy of the day! He has a pikachu, a unicorn, an owl. But his true love is his HUGE red comfort toy affectionately called Humpy!

Poor beaver looks like he had a traffic accident!! Mine doesn't really like toys, he will play with squeaky ones or beat up his giant deer stuffy (it makes him feel tough) every once in a while.

His favorite is BALL. I bought the smallest size chuck-it and he literally becomes a basket case when I bring it out. He's started yelping in anticipation if I don't throw it fast enough. Its totally startling, it sounds like someone stepped on him!

I keep having to buy Cuddles replacement Lamb Chops from Walmart. However, she seems to be really attached to the one I bought her a few days ago. It already has a few holes in it, but she's at least stopped trying to murder him. I already have her replacement ready, but for some reason she loves this one sooo much. We've been buying Lamb Chops for her for at least a year and a half.

She prefers the tiny ones to the large ones. We even found her a jumbo-sized one at a discount store last year. She even loved that one, even though it was bigger than her.

She has probably had at least twenty Lamb Chops since we started buying them for her, including many small ones, some large ones, some large ones that are multi-colored, and the jumbo one that could be used as a small pillow. It all began when we found one on clearance at Target.

It's crazy how attached she is to her current one. It's almost like the kind of attachment a human child has to a toy.

I see that other Chis love Lamb Chop toys. That's very interesting.
