Fun Day with Gobo!
Today Gobo and I got some good socialization in while my husband and daughter saw the birds and played on the playground at a local private park! As we were walking toward the area where birds are kept, a couple young women with a Chihuahua called us to come over. That dog was about the same age and size as Gobo, and they played and wrestled on leash until Gobo had had enough. So cute! Then I carried Gobo into the bird area (where dogs are not supposed to go) half-covered in my shirt to try and make him look less like a predator. The chickens, turkeys, pheasants, peafowl, geese, ducks, geese, and raptors did not notice him. Gobo watched the birds calmly while I fed him the odd treat. I had some guys in baseball caps give him treats, as he was unsure of someone of that description the other day. He happily greeted a man wearing gloves in a wheelchair and some kids who were jumping around and screeching. I talked to a man who was apparently Mexican and made sure I knew I had a Mexican dog! We talked about how Gobo was from Texas and he seemed to think that was neat. Another Chihuahua walked by us, and I said "it must be Chihuahua day today!" Later he disagreed that the other dog was a Chihuahua and said it must be a mix because Gobo is what real Chihuahuas look like! The other dog was clearly purebred to me, but had a lower, heavier build. He told me there were toy, medium, and large versions, the large still being a small dog. So cool!
