Default Bonnie & Jazzie

This am there was sort of an alarming situation. I was busy getting dogs breakfasts together, when I noticed that Bonnie (5 yr old newest dog) was missing from her pen. I called and called and looked and looked. Nothing. Finally the siamese cat Jazz came flying out of under the dining room table. She had poor Bonnie cornered back there. Poor dog came out shaking and trembling. She came right over to me to be picked up. (most unusual, as she is so shy) She is only barely 4 pounds and the cat is 11 pounds. I locked up the cat in her bathroom for awhile until Bonnie got her composure back. These 2 have had their 'fun' at each others expense for a long time. Bonnie grabs Jazzie's tail, when she can, and Jazz 'teases' Bonnie by rushing her. I know that Jazz 'whacked' her when she was a baby, but today was the first time that Jazz had cornered Bonnie, preventing her from eating. Any ideas as what I can do to make Bonnie more comfortable with Jazz; and or change Jazzie's actions?

That would be a surprise! Yikes! I have no advice. I completely failed to get my dog and cat together.

Poor baby

My dogs and my cat do NOT peacefully coexist. Never have. The difference though is that Amelie is wary of the dogs and is a timid cat in general, so she just stay away...gets on a high place that they can't reach and watches them disdainfully. There has never been any situation unless SHE has felt cornered, and then it was less about attack and more about stealth and trying to get away.

I think you need to just observe for a while. You don't know what led to the incident, so this could just be a random, atypical situation that won't repeat. No sense focusing on how how to fix it if it's not gonna happen again anyway.

Thanks Ronnie. I have not noticed any more 'action' from Jazz toward Bonnie. Funny thing is: she 'grooms' the sheltie D.J. who also chases Jazz!!
