Default Naughty Emmie

Hi folks. A rainy cold day, so I'll entertain you with a real happening.

I am 79 and have dentures . My lowers are not well fitting sorry to say, due to bone loss. . My bone loss is due to cortisone that I took for 38 years for asthma.

Last night after dinner I took the lowers out, and put them on my table next to my recliner. I got up several times to do chores. Around 10:30 I started my bedtime schedule. Looked at the table, and there were NO teeth! I looked on the dining room table, in pockets, every where, including the car. I got to be a little panicky. Garbage can--nope. Finally I went back to my recliner to look yet again---and lo and behold, there were the teeth IN EMMIES CHAIR which is right next to the recliner!!!! She was in bed already. I have caught her stealing cookies etc from that table, and she is the only dog that can get to that table. I am SO glad she didn't get the denture caught somehow in her mouth. I have been warned, so I have to find another place to put them, if I take 'em out!

Hope you all survive this terrential downpour we are having here.

What a naughty puppy! Made me laugh!

Gobo likes to steal things and hide them in his crate. His favorite thing to steal is my daughter's pacifiers! She hasn't really used them since she was a newborn (she is almost 3 now), but is amused by sucking or chewing on them occasionally, so there are a couple around. They are all silicone and Gobo did chew the handle off one once, but thankfully didn't eat it. I think it is such an odd thing for him to be obsessed with stealing!

That made me laugh!

I will say though my dogs never really take anything that there not allowed to have.
But Sunshine when she was younger enjoyed grabbing toilet paper from the bathroom. Recently she had the bad habit of picking up cotton swabs but rarely does it now.
And Jojo loves picking up socks (Only socks nothing else) when he finds a sock on the floor he's the happiest dog alive. And will prance around with it in his mouth. Of course I eventually take it away but even I find it cute

Susan, I actually laughed out loud at your description! Sounds like a comedy routine you'd see in a movie!

My dogs aren't very interested in any kind of toys, so they don't really steal much of anything. Tango though will make a point of curling up on ANYTHING of mine that's on the floor. Whether it's a pants leg hanging out of the laundry hamper, my purse, a hat...doesn't matter. If it has my scent on it, he'll use it as a bed, even though the dogs have plenty of beds around the house!

Ronnie, here's another true story. Zarita, 11 years old with Heart Failure and severe arthritis. Medication is given by syringe---no problem. The pills (lasix and tummy meds) are given in whipped cream cheese. I have noticed the lasix on the floor after I THOUGHT she had swallowed them. Today, I really concentrated---yep, she was carefully rolling them out of the side of her mouth, so that she could get more cream cheese! I carefully added more cream cheese, and the devil did it again! I told her--'next time you do that, I'm gonna put it down your throat.' I guess she knew she had been made- cause she did finally swallow it. I can't believe a DOG could figure out that if she rolled a pill out of her mouth, she'd get more cream cheese!
