Default Halloween and your dog

Hi everyone. I have a story about a dog and halloween. Yes the dog was an Irish Setter, but the message is the same.

One halloween I was answering the doorbell and giving out treats. The dog would bark, and I'd tell her 'it's OK'. The phone rang and I went and answered it. The next thing I knew there was a crash of glass. I told my friend (who asked me 'what broke', it was that loud) I gotta go. To my dismay the Irish Setter had gone THOUGH a plate glass window with children on the porch. I went outside and asked the children if they were OK. One was the secretary of state to be daughter! It had snowed and I had to pick glass out of the snow and shovel it all into a pile to melt. Thankfully none of the children were hurt. The dog had a pink line down her skull that had shaved off the hair, but not actually cut her!

The message is that halloween is SCARY for dogs. So please be careful of your little friends. Best be in a pen/room somewhere far away from the door.

Wow that must have been very scary. Im glad no one got hurt.
We don't get children on Halloween because of the "area" Which I've always been glad for as I know my dogs would go crazy with all the kids knocking and noises. Plus the fear that they might get into chocolate. I once found Jr on top of my bed snacking on a milk chocolate bar. I had totally forgot I left the chocolate bar on top of the bed. And I felt so bad but he never showed any symptoms and didn't get sick thankfully. Since then I'm much more cautious.
