So, Griff came home with us from the school today! I was pretty apprehensive about how be would be with the cats, but he was great. He didn't bark at all, just gave them a sniff and then explored the house.
After about 40 minutes my younger/braver cat came over and started playing with him, and Griff loved it. He got a little over excited and had two accidents in the house. Just going to be extra diligent with frequent trips outside for the bathroom to get him back into the habit of being housebroken. He's been living in a kennel for 6+ months so I'm sure once he's back in the swing of things it'll be good.
He's also still mounting a lot, and just air humping anytime he's near Jersey (our large mutt) or the cats. I think it's mostly excitement, and he was only neutered Monday so still lots of testosterone in the system.
It's absolutely amazing seeing the difference in him though! He was so calm in the car and he's a completely different dog than he was in the kennel. No growling, hasn't barked once, no fear or aggression. Some anxiousness when he's trying to play with the cat and it jumps out of reach, but he's getting better at coming back to me and calming down. I'm keeping him on a 6ft leash attached to my belt loop around the house just until we have the house training figured out.
He wouldn't touch his supper, but I assume that's just from the excitement of being home. I'll worry if he hasn't eaten by tomorrow night!
Here's some pictures... I'm so happy!
