A Question for Experienced Chi owners
Please excuse this longer post ahead of time..
As I posted recently, we lost our little girl, Snow, who was 9 years old. She was best friends with our 2 year neutered boy Mick. They played together, both slept with me, and were very close. Mick appears to be constantly searching for Snow and is grieving~ My other two chis are old men, Neko will be 15 in 3 months and has a heart condition which is treated with meds and sees our vet every 3 months. Playing is not on his agenda. Buster will be 14 in April and is totally blind. Again, he is not interested in playing with Mick.
Here is my question.. should we consider adopting an adult, spayed girl, between 2 and 5 years old as a playmate for Mick? My two reservations are: hubby and I will be 70 this year and worry about the care of young dogs if something affects our health and we can no longer provide them a loving home..and secondly, what if we adopt and the new girl and Mick don't become happy playmates like he and Snow were?
Your thoughts/opinions will be appreciated.
