Question Another puppy?

I may have to change from part time work to full time and was wondering if getting another puppy (not a baby) would be good for Sami. I hate for him to be alone most of the day and maybe a friend would help some. Not really sure if I want another one quite this soon, but want to do whats best for my little guy. Any ideas? Sami had a rough beginning before he came to live with me and I don't want to do anything to hurt him further. It's not positive i'll have to go full time or not yet but was trying to think ahead just in case. My husband has some medical problems that even with insurance is quite costly and I feel bad not helping more finanically. Thank you all for all the good advice and caring I have gotten here. You are all GREAT!

In my experience it does help quite a bit to have a 2nd chi if you're going to be gone a lot during the day. I know it helped Lina when we got Boss. Even though he was the little brother she never wanted lol

Oh yes. When I go to work the dogs all keep eachother company. I crate the Xolo and Pikachu in seperate crates, but leave them beside eachother. The other dogs have the run of the house as I trust them. I wouldn't be as happy leaving for work if they didn't have eachother, though my father's dog does quite well on his own when he leaves for work. Rochelle.

I only have one, but I know that when I was in school I would leave her with my dads chimix (in crates beside each other until they are potty trained) and she seemed to like it better than being home alone. I can't afford another one. Maybe if money is right you could rescue a little dog from an animal shelter that could keep your little guy company.
