Default Easter was great...but.....

Had a very nice Easter at my daughter's house with all the family. We sat down at the table to eat and my son-in-law out of the blue says to me in a louder than ever and somewhat sarcastic voice...."So what do you do all day long...take pictures of your dogs ? Every time we get an email from you it has pictures of the dogs dressed in silly outfits! Your clogging up our computer with dog pictures!" And all of a sudden you could have heard a pin drop...everyone at the table fell silent. After my blood pressure calmed down I simply said in a very calm voice..." those picture were not sent to you, they were sent to my daughter and grandson's to enjoy...and by the way your email address has my daughters name in it..not yours! I then proceeded to enjoy the rest of my Easter feast and so did everyone else after they stopped laughing.
My son-in-law can be a pain in the A-- and is outspoken at times and I have learned to deal with his lack of common sense and his stupid remarks. He is good to my daughter and he is a great father and so I try and tolerate him but by all means he knows that he can only go so far with me.
And by the.....Hope all of you had a very nice Easter

oh my gosh, can't believe he said that!!! Some people are so insensitive! I have to say though... you handled that situation PERFECTLY! That could have turned into a big fight with lots of hurt feelings and a ruined Easter. You said exactly the right thing! I admire you for being calm in a situation like that when it would have been so easy to just tell him where to go!!! Good for you!

And by the way.... I LOVE your pictures! So share away!!!

Yea, I understand. I get a lot of comments about my forum. My family loves it though cuz I'm always telling them stuff they didn't know. People can be rude. At least he's good to your daughter and I love the comment you said back to him. Good job at handling that one!!!

Wow! How did you control yourself, it would of taken all I had not to jump over the table after his a$$! Pardon my language! Sorry you had to deal with that, but glad your Easter was still good even after that.

You handled that perfectly I would have probably tore him a new one but you did such a great and mature job in handling that

Dog people do not understand, Period! I have family member's and friends both that like to make snide remarks about all the energy I put into my dogs and I just tell them that "they are my children and give me joy that noone can imagine, its my business so mind your own"..hehehe

Its true...people who don't know the special meaning of having a pet just don't get it. My daughter has two dogs (an Aussie and a doxie/chi mix) and she and my twin grandsons love them, spoil them, take them for walks and even put a sweater on the little one. My son-in-law just tolerates them. He is not mean to them and he will feed them if my daughters not home or give them an occasional pat on the head, but he does not really pay much attention to them.
It comes from his upbringing....he grew up in a family where the animals were just that....and their dogs were kept only outside. His outspoken behavior is something he inherited from his mother whom I avoid when possible!
