Exclamation Tabitha and Jerry's Wellness Experience....

There have been multiple threads about Wellness. Tabitha and Jerry started out
so well on the food in January. Then, in late February, I bought a bag where the
food seemed to have changed.

They had: loose stools, some light tear staining, seemed to be "off" for some reason,
and their coats were dull
They were eating Wellness Core in the 4 lb bag.

I have seen, and responded to, multiple threads about the subject of
Wellness. I just want to set the record straight and say I no longer feed my dogs Wellness.
Whether the parent company admits a change in the food or not, it is obvious there
have been changes. Perhaps the recipe is the same, but something has changed
in the final product.

I decided to go back to Royal Canin over a period of 10 days. Tabitha and Jerry
grew up on Royal Canin and I had just changed over to Wellness when they were
coming off of the RC Puppy formula. Well, they really went for the RC and they
left the the Wellness in the bowl. So, there is no gradual transition to RC. On the good side,
they have their energy back. Their stools are back to normal. They are getting
back to the happy, healthy little dogs they were born to be.

I have to go now to PetCo to return my stock of Wellness Core.
I will be feeding them Royal Canin Mini Indoor Adult 21 (it has NO corn).

Here are just a few threads on the subject:

You're welcome Michele
They do make RC Chi, but it has corn--not an ingredient I think they need...
So, I went with the Royal Canin Mini Indoor Adult 21 formula.

I definitely think that RC mini indoor 21 is one of their better formulas for sure. Corn is NOT necessary.

I've thought about giving RC a try but it still has wheat and mine don't do well with wheat (sneezy and itchy). It's funny how different dogs really do differently on different foods.

I feel really lucky that I didn't end up switching to Wellness. I was considering it back right before it came to light that Diamond and Menu foods had taken over =(

thanks for the info! We're going to start transitioning madi of the RC puppy formula now that we're almost out of it and i was thinking of going to wellness, but she loves the RC as it is, so i'll look at the indoor formula, as well!

I to am switching off of the Wellness. Although I havent seen any ill results as of yet I still think it is a good idea to switch. I havent decided what I am going to switch to though.

I have decided to switch as well. My girls haven't had issues like Tabitha and Jerry, but Britney is back to being very itchy and having white flakes just literally sitting on her coat.

They have a bit of their Wellness small breed left, and then I'm going to get the opinion of the employee at the privately owned pet store I go to.

I feed RC too and mine love it. Silly question: how is Canin pronounced is it Can and in or canine like the dog?
