Default Still not ventured outside!...

Luna's 3 months old now, we got her at 9 weeks old and the breeder haddnt started her shots so she was already behind as opposed to other puppies having already had their first vacs.
She was due her final vac last week so she would have been just 1 week away from being able to go outside for the first time... but now shes got Puppy Strangles obviously she cant go outside and the vet said she will need to have her puppy shots all over again as her immune system will be much lower and wiped them out.
So we're looking at another 2 months before she can even socialise properly at puppy classes and walking outside etc
(We've also been told to keep Pixie indoors until Luna's PS is under control...)

I suppose we can practice walking Luna on a lead indoors etc, but thats all we can do? - our house is being renovated so she cant even go in the garden etc its a building site...

I just hope its not going to have any detrimental effect on Luna when shes older ie;socialising with other dogs and being outside..
Shes built such a strong bond to Pixie she needs to get used to other dogs lol shes Pixies shadow at the moment

Before Calista was allowed to walk outside, I used to carry her out and about with me.
Also, I had friends with vaccinated trusted dogs that she was able to socialize with.
Walking indoors on the lead is a great idea! also.. if you have a safe (fox free etc) garden you could get her walking around there on a lead.

If you don't mind me asking, what is Puppy Strangles and how do they get it?

Oh no! That is a while for her not to see the outdoors. My Audrey Lyn is a service doggy and during training she was trained mainly indoors. There is a lot you can do inside. Have children over, let then pet her (with your supervision of course) also noises help train. Such as noises that would imitate thunder, vehicles and such. As far as meeting other dog, I don't have any suggestions on, sorry. Just letting her see and hear as many things as possible and slipping her treats everytime to reassure her that these things are ok so she doesn't get afraid. I did things like pop an umbrella open and closed, drop spoons on the floor in the kitchen, walk her around the house on her harness and leash, all of that helped.

OK, I googled it and wiki says that it occurs after the first set of shots. At the risk of opening a can of worms, I have to ask - would it be better then to not give vaccinations?

I would still take her outside, but carry her. That way she can meet new people but not be at risk of getting sick. You could also invite people over to meet her, and she can meet vaccinated dogs in your home.
