Default Chihuahua puppy found in bag in Gulf View Square Mall bathroom stall

OMG it looks like a young Toby! So sad

Chihuahua puppy found in bag in Gulf View Square Mall bathroom stall | wtsp.com

PORT RICHEY, Florida -- His name is Peanut. A Chihuahua puppy who almost perished in the potty. No kidding. Someone left him in the bathroom at Gulf View Square Mall in Port Richey. A lady discovered him, and turned him in.

"He was found hanging in a sac on a knob in a stall, in a bathroom stall, at Gulf View Square Mall. He was just abandoned there," said Joanne Schoch, executive director of the Humane Society of the Nature Coast.

Peanut is now in a foster home, and he's a lucky pup. Animal experts think Peanut spent all day in the bathroom with no food or water. At less than a year old, chihuahua puppies need to eat often because they have little body weight or fat. They say if he stayed in the bathroom any longer, Peanut may not have survived.

"Not only just being left there, but who knows who could have found the bag? Not everyone is kind to animals. Leaving any animal to fend for itself is a dangerous thing," said Schoch.

Peanut is getting lots of love and attention now. He loves people and is a playful little guy. Who would abandon Peanut is anyone's guess, but it doesn't really matter now. Schoch said Peanut is ready for his new forever friend to step forward.

"He is going to get a new loving home with someone who truly deserves him."

Why do such a thing? If his owner didn't want him, they could have taken him to a shelter. This is just sadism.

OMG!!!! Shocking, I just cant help but wonder.. Do you think the owner may have had some mental delay, or just "forgot" him there. Its just crazy how he was hanging on the door knob.

Now that is just plain sad. But at least the person left him in a room where he could be found and not just let it go outside to get killed, person knew at least the cleaning staff would find him.

Exactly, that's what I don't understand. Why abandon dogs like that in situations where they risk dying when you could just take them to a shelter. There's no excuse really. Like people who dump puppies in bins, etc... what the hell. Dump them in front of a shelter, at the very least (if they don't want to face people at the shelter). -_-

But I guess there's no point in wondering why. The kind of people who do this obviously have issues and/or have no respect for animals at all.

Things like this make me sick, how anyone in their right mind could do this to a defenseless little animal is beyond me!! I'd loce to get that person, tie them up in a great big bag and leave the bag hanging from a lampost for a week, see how they like it!! Ohhh it just makes me so mad!!

I'm so glad he was found by someone who could help him and, I always find, the amazing thing about animals is that even though a human has hurt them and abandoned them in the worst way possible, they still find the faith in us to love and trust us again
