We keep absolutely everything up to date. Our dog's collars are full of tags, we have rabies, city tag, microchip tag, and normal name/phone number tags on all of them. It's obnoxious but I don't really mind- people do comment on how many there are, but because my dogs are so precious to me, I can't risk something awful happening to them.
I advise all of you to do the same because life can change in an instant and your baby could get lost or stolen or picked up by animal control and your best bet to see them again is to have everything covered.
