Default Urge to pee with bowel movement?

My male neutered (probably by 6 months)13 year old pug/jack Russell cross has developed an issue with his potty habits. I hope you don't mind he isn't a Chi. This is the only dog forum I am part of right now!

What happens is that, when he poops, he will almost always pee right before or right after he goes poop, even if he peed recently. When he pees right after pooping, it seems like he is not expecting to go. He just stops and barely lifts his leg and pees. (He always lifts his leg high to pee.)

Thanks for any ideas!

Maybe the pressure of the poop presses on his bladder/prostate gland and that makes him pee? Vet seen him recently?

I thought of the prostate, but when I looked it up it said the prostate atrophies significantly in neutered dogs and doesn't cause issues. I guess his bladder could be weaker, but he can still hold it for a long time otherwise. He has been to the vet too much in the last few months, which is the reason I thought I would ask here first. It isn't really a problem, just new-ish and confusing.
