Default Glucosomine/Condroitin question

I want to use human grade g/c for one of my chi's. I've searched online to get the correct dosage for a barely 3 lb. chi. No luck as I am useless at any kind of math. My tabs are 1500/1200 mg. I was thinking of giving her one fourth twice a day, but I need to be more sure that's right before I give it to her. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My ortho guy suggested 400/200mg for my 8.5 # chihuahua. Ask your vet or pharmacist to break it down for you.

I can't help you on the proper dosage and also recommend checking with your vet. However, I did want to mention you might also want to check any tablets you might be considering splitting to see if they have score lines in them or the package has a statement on it stating it's safe for splitting. It has been my understanding that manufacturers do not have to have even distribution of medicine/supplement in a tablet if it's not scored or has that statement on it's packaging somewhere. Which could cause over or under dosing if you're cutting up a tablet.

I had a friend, a former surgical tech, figure out the dosage. The tabs are scored but hard to cut with a pill cutter as they are very fat but we manage. Two other dogs have been on them for about a month and are much improved so I'm sure it will help Rheana, too.
