Default Bonnie's dental

Hi everyone. Today I brought Bonnie in to have her dental. She is 4 years old and never had one. When I came into get her the vet talked to me first. she said she was "shocked' when she looked at the x-rays. We knew she had inbedded canines (fangs) on the bottom, but when we viewed the x-rays one of the fangs was going all the way in back and into the jaw bone. All under the gum line. She is not currently having any problems. The other lower fang is lying flat with only the tip showing. No problems there either. the vet said she'd never seen a tooth going down into the jaw and in fact below the jaw bone. This a 4 pound chihuahua. She is home and recovering from the anesthesia. A lot of crying and running from room to room when we first came home. Now is sleeping again. At least she has stopped crying. I put her in her pen, away from the others.

Poor thing. I hope she feels better soon. It sounds like my wisdom teeth. They are growing sideways and the only way to get them out is to break my jaw. No thank you. Lol.

Bonnie is fine today. Ate some raw ground up chicken this am. This pm she had some more kibble like food, and at that up with no problem. She has 'desolving' sutures in her mouth. Has gone to bed with some treats that went down fast!
