Default Update on Zarita

Hi, all. Zarita continues to do well concerning her heart. Very little coughing. The problem now is severe arthritis in her shoulder. She limps badly when first getting up, and it has caused her to take 'a nose dive' occasionally. She 'waves' this paw at me, when it hurts! She was taking Metacam, but it really was not helping enough. Vet added Tramadol. Has anyone used this combo? I am going to try a lesser amount and see what happens. Also I am giving them together? Vet is closed today, and I forgot to ask her. No info on whether or not this is safe? I assume it is, because she said she was 'adding' it to the other pain medication (Metacam).

No experience with those medications but just wanted to say that I will be praying for your little one that all continues to go well.

I gave her the whole amount today. She foams at the mouth with this new medication?? I put it together with the metacam, and looked down a minute or two after giving it to her, and she had saliva/foam dripping out of her mouth. I am going to call the pharmacy and see what they 'compounded' it with. Whatever, it is really nasty.

Omg, I would definitely do the same thing. Sounds like she had a severe allergic reaction to it. Hope they can get it straightened out for her.
