Hi everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Just the 'ol lady' reminding people NOT to give their pups ANY of the skin from the turkey. In fact, just a tiny amount of white meat sprinkled to top of the regular meal will be enough. This is the time that vets see gobs of dogs with pancreatitis. This is usually caused by an intake of fat, ie, turkey skin. If you ever go through this problem in a dog, well it will make you aware how nasty this condition is. Vomiting, diarrhea, painful abdomen etc. It is treated by IV liquids, and NOTHING by mouth to rest the pancreas, for several days. So to avoid vet bills be kind to your dog and skip the turkey skin and most of the turkey. OK now I'll get off the podium!!
