Default In what section of the forum are the exchanges posted?

I've heard all about the Christmas exchange and have seen some other member's photos from other exchanges through out the year and it's something that I'd be really interested in participating in. I'm wondering what section these exchanges are posted in? Also, how often are they and what are the rules? Thanks!

i think they are usally posted in the General chat section. i used to really love them but have been very disapoointed with them lately ( not becasuse of the presents i recieved. i received the best presents ) but because others have not recieved theres. some dont post pics which i think is not right... i'm done with these exchanges. its too disapointing for some. i'll just do the private ones from now on

Yikes, when I first read the thread title I imagined it was something like those reality TV shows where people exchange their houses, their wives etc for a couple of weeks and was thinking, "WHAT??!! Give someone else my Chi for a couple of weeks & take theirs, not on your Nelly, that will NEVER happen" hahahaha.

I too think they're either in the Chi or General chat section. If you're like me though you just click 'New Posts' a few times a day; and you'll see them show up there too LOL. There's usually a minimum post requirement. I think the last couple have been 500. For the last exchange, the Valentine's one the post minimum was dropped a lot lower but also a bunch for people didn't receive their gifts. So, I understand that it helps to have 'committed' members if that makes sense. There's a lot of people who'll be really active for a few weeks and then kinda just disappear. =( So my advice would be to just keep posting and getting involved and getting to know people, so you'll have enough posts for the next one! I'm not honestly sure when the next would be. Appleblossom is usually the coordinator and does a great job but I know she's been busy lately. Last year, I think we had a Spring/Summer exchange?

Thanks so much for the helpful tips! I can't see stopping posts on Chi People now - it's been so helpful and nice to chat with other Chihuahua owners. It seems like "big dog owners" just don't understand the keeping/care of a Chihuahua. It definitely makes sense as to why you have to have a certain number of posts to join in on the exchange. Hopefully by the time Christmas comes around I'll have 500+ posts and will be able to participate. That is such a shame that people didn't receive some of the gifts from the exchange on Valentine's Day. It would be nice if everyone could follow the rules and participate so that everyone can enjoy and continue on with the exchange.

thats what i mean... still waiting and its been over a month since Valentines Day. even if you do get your present, its not right to be that late... in my opinion, dont enter if your going to be that late. On the Christmas exchange , i was so nervous that one of my girls Secret Santa recipeients would not get there presents until the day after Christmas. ( mail was so slow around then and i did send it out weeks in advance ) one day and i was worried... not a month!!! thats why no more for me. i'm glad i've done these in the past , i had fun with it. the rules do say theres always that chance that you may not recieve anything ... but its just happened way too much.
