Well, me and Odie had an eventful start to our day. It was supposed to be hot out today (it's 37 degrees at 7:30 pm now so they were right!) and I wanted to walk Odie in the morning before the temperature rose too much. I decided to check out a trail close by that I had never explored before, which was a terrible idea since I was wearing flip flops and it was so steep that I had to run down.
Something else that was a bad idea was wearing little shorts with shallow pockets and putting my phone in one of them. I was laughing out loud at Odie because there were tons of weeds blocking the path and she was just running straight into them, not caring at all. I went to grab my phone to take a pic of her and realized my phone was missing! I didn't want to make her run back up the hill, because she had a hard time getting down so I decided to keep following the trail and retrace my steps once we got home.
Once we got off the trail and back onto a sidewalk, she started running SO FAST! She's not the biggest fan of walks and when she knows we're heading home, she gets her second wind and is a little speeding bullet. This is why we have to have good harnesses that don't touch her neck! She's like a butterfly on a string. I ran with her, laughing my head off because she looked like a little greyhound at the end of my leash and a man across the street was staring at us.
We returned home and started visiting all the spots we visited on our walk and it was starting to get really hot so I dropped Ode off at home and put on some trail shoes and found my phone face down on the trail, baking in the sun. It was a hot tamale, but still worked. I was so happy!
We're enjoying some AC now and are going to go watch the fireworks tonight. Hope everyone had a safe, fun day and was able to celebrate this awesome country! What did you do for Canada Day?
Hi chi peeps! Have a good Canada Day!
What is around my neck!
Thought I'd also share these funny pics. She was a really good girl when she got her nails trimmed today so I gave her something she doesn't usually get, a zuke's z-bone. She was already full though and was hiding and re-hiding it. She gets really stressed when she has to hide something because no spot is ever good enough, so I eventually had to take it from her and give her something smaller she could eat right away.
Hmmmm... maybe they'll let me bring this up to hide in the couch
Dad! Where do I put this?!
