Default Not a deer head, not an apple head....

Can anyone tell me what my little Marley is?? His mother was apparently a registered pure bred but his father didn't have his papers - though Marley's previous owners said they were told his father was still a full Chi. His previous owners sent me pictures of his 3 siblings and although I couldn't tell if they were apples or deers, they sure looked full Chi to me! She said his parents were between 4-5 pounds, but at 6 months old, he's already 6.4 pounds!

Our other Chi, Zero, is totally an Apple head! He's not as short snouted as some I've seen, but he is for sure an apple. We can't figure Marley out though!!! I've included some of his baby pics, as well as current ones, and I tried to show different angles. (If you think he may not be full Chi, let me know! And, if you can figure out his head shape, I'd love to know!!)

Thanks!!!

Here is Zero, our other Chi, who although isn't super short snouted, we still believe he's an apple head. He has quite the prominent forehead and he still has a small, open molera and he's a year and a half old. If that doesn't say Apple head, I don't know what does! Neither of Zee's parents are registered, but I have seen both his mother and father. He could be his mother's identical twin, and his father is definitely an apple head. Both his parents are larger (Mom is 7 pounds and dad is 11.) Zee is 7.8 pounds right now.

They're both adorable!! So so cute!!
While I'm definitely not a chi expert, I do have 2 deer head chi's and 2 apple heads, I think they both look like deer head chi's.

Well, deer head Chis are still Chis. There is no difference between apple and deer heads other than the shape of their heads and muzzles. The apple head chi is more to the standard. Deer head Chis just have a different head shape, doesn't mean they are any less chi.

I say your little ones have deer shaped heads. They both have relatively long muzzles, a greater than 90 degree stop (the slop between forehead and muzzle), and less protruding foreheads.

Beautiful pups, both of them! I agree Marley's head shape looks "deer" like. He's a very dear deer! lol
