Default Color change?

I had come to the conclusion that Lily was "blue with cream"markings. The AKC thought "chocolate blue".
Now she is getting light tan tips around her back legs, eyes and ears. Suggestions on what this would be. Her nose also has a lighter area that just shows when she is cold.

I think it is just her cream areas getting darker. Pups that are born white tend to end up cream or fawn/gold/red so I expect Lily's points will darken as she ages.

Thanks! I knew I could count on you. I had no idea that the cream gets darker. It will be interesting to see how those area change.

I recently posted a puppy picture of Sapphire. She had absolutely no tan at all as a puppy at 6 weeks. She was basically blue and white. She now has tan markings around her mouth, above her eyes and a smidgen of tan on her back legs and under her tail. Maybe the tan develops as they age.

I saw that picture...that's what got me thinking. I noticed the same on some other tri color pups. It will be interesting to see how much of the tan she gets!

Hope, as an adult is textbook/standard Cream. This is her at perhaps 12 weeks where she looked very solid and nearly white:

Now as an adult (she is 3 years old) she has matured and her color has as well. Particularly down her back, and her tail. The quilt she is on has a true white background. Clearly, she is cream, not white:

Thanks Karen, like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words! Hope was and is a beautiful chi, such a pretty dainty little girl. I can really see the difference as she matured.
