Default It's comforting to know...

I was a wreck when Chico died.... and so was Kody....
but somehow it is strangely comforting to know that Chico is home now with me...

He may not be here in flesh but knowing I have his ashes and I can touch 'him'.... is comforting...... and I am more at ease now.....

is that crazy??

No, Jan, we feel the same as you. Since Mick had been my mother in law's dog my husband had talked of spreading his ashes at her gravesite. He could not. We discussed spreading them at our home but he could not.
Sadly, he is not in such a lovely little chest. I need to find something that nice for Mick. It has been 3 years and my husband still cannot bring himself to see or discuss his remains.
Grateful that you can find peace and comfort in having your boy home with you.

It is so devastating to lose a much loved dog, especially when their time here has been too short. I am glad you are finding some comfort from having his ashes back. Just take one day at a time, it does get easier eventually xxx

In 2006, we lost our beloved 3 year old Rottie to Anti-freeze poisoning. Our neighbors did it because they didn't like the breed. Mason was a sweetheart, a little light in the loafers if you know what I mean (hehe). It was so hard loosing him, spending days at the vet with him while he went through treatment that didn't work, it was so hard to lose him But, when we got his ashes back, it was like we got our boy back. Even though it wasn't him breathing, it was nice to have him back someway. He's still with my mother, in a beautiful urn I found with a statue of a Rottweiler on it. I know how you feel. I am happy to see your boy back.

When we lost Stella we where also heart broken and i felt just how you do now. Getting the ashes back some how did make me feel more .... I dont know ... That it had sunk in. We have her ashes in key rings that where made. They are like stones with a small amout so i can keep her with me all the time. Then the rest of her ashes are in a wooden box that we keep along with her fav toy in our bedroom.

Jan my heart is really with you amd your family at the moment this Christmas may not be the best but just think of the good times. Xoxox

We recently put our cat of 18 years to sleep. I also was relieved when she was back with us. She joins the remains of her feline sister in a drawer in the spare bedroom. I couldn't imagine not having their remains (some part of them).....totally understand where you are coming from.
