I thought I would let everyone know that after months of searching and waiting I finally have my baby girl!
I'd been on a few waiting lists, but one lady I chatted to more than once, and we really got friendly. I was expecting a pup in 10 weeks time. However a couple let her down at the last minute on a reserved puppy, as their older Chi had encountered health problems, she placed just 1 ad for longcoats, and mentioned she would have shortcoats available soon, and within 2 days it had generated 80 responses!
She's absolutely devoted to the dogs, and hand picks the potential owners. She doesn't allow them to go anywhere that she's not comfortable they'll be loved and cherished. Imagine my surprise when I received a call on Sunday 12th Feb asking me if I wanted to go over and see the puppy without a home. She'd already reserved me one of the newly born pups (fawn female) but as we'd been in touch and spoken at length, she said she had a good feeling this little girl was meant for me. She'd allowed me to jump in over hoards of other people, and I was so excited!
My son and I went to collect her on the following Monday before Valentines day, and although I had picked Candy as a possible name, she has these unusual white 'angel wings' on her back/shoulder blades.
I was instantly smitten and the little chi loved me back straight away. The breeder offered for me to wait for another puppy and said there was no pressure, but having seen this beautiful girl, I knew instantly why the wait I had had to endure had been so long, as I really believe she's the one for me!
Because of the angel wings I have called her Angelica, and I thought once she gets used to it, I can call her Jelly for short, which is also quite funky!
I am attaching some photos for you all to see what she's like, they're not very good quality as I've taken them on my mobile and emailed them to my PC, but you will at least get a glimpse.
She loves my sons kitty Wizzy and my youngest son over everyone else in the house. When the cat is out she gets quite lonely and I am already thinking of getting another pup just to keep her company! LOL so I will remain on the waiting list I am on with a view to a second baby Chi.
Thank you to everyone here who has advised me along the way. I will probably call upon your expertise over her care during the next few weeks and months, and hopefully once Angelica's had her vaccinations I can attend a Chi meet up.
I really feel blessed to have found my Chi, and I am amazed at how much love I have for her already, she's been home reared with cats and other dogs and lots of love, and she has such a sweet nature - I feel that the bit of my life spent without a Chi I've missed out! It's definately the best decision I ever made.
