Loving Chewy's expression in this one.

I don't mean to be negative, but I see something very different in that first pic. I see a dog with the whites of his eyes showing, and a a tight mouth leaning away from the person who is invading his space. To me Chewy looks extremely stressed and uncomfortable. Of course it could just be the picture (the camera can lie lol) but I would be watching very closely for similar signs in the future. Often the dog is saying very clearly that he is not comfortable in a situation but the adults don't pick up on it and the child gets bitten, I would hate that to happen to you.

I think I caught the pic right before he pounced. They were playing and jumping back in forth at each other. In this case it was just the timing of the pic because I have one of him licking her that was right after this one thanks for your concern. We do have to watch him around people he doesn't know.

Oh good, I am so glad! You can never get the whole picture from a single snapshot, but I would have felt terrible if he had later bitten your daughter and I had said nothing. So often i get sent pics of peoples kids with the family dog with captions like 'best buds' but the dog is obviously really unhappy and barely tolerating it. There is even a set a pics doing the rounds on FB and similar where the family commissioned some professional pics of their dog and baby. They thought they were lovely until someone pointed out that the dog was clearly showing all the signs of a stressed dog, and now the pics are being used to educate parents about the signs to watch for.
