Long story ... I got a call from the man that had both of Gidgets parents. Several months ago I went after Gizmo her dad and he has adjusted nicely and what I thought would be a short stay here he is now a member of the family. George the man that had him and her mom Sophie asked me if I wanted Sophie because he was rehoming all the others now. He had remarried and he was rehoming his Rat Terrier, Chi/mix (huge) and Sophie as well as his wifes Shih-tzu/Chi mix. They are all obese. Apparently the new wife feeds table scraps and treats only and the dogs do not even know how to eat or want dog food anymore. She did not want to give Wally up and she cried and broke my heart. I went to get all of them because they were giving them away free and it always worries me where they will end up and these are sweet dogs All have been passed around multiple times
So I go and pick them all up and Hubby had already put his foot down telling me no more we have too many. So on way to take them to a rescue friend of mine he asks me what we are going to do with Sophie and I said what do you think? He said I think we should take her home with us. I said to keep? And he said "I cannot believe I am about to say this but yes. LOL! So my hubby that was a cat person when I met him that didnt really care for dogs especially toy breeds is now a Chihuahua man through and through
Do I think we need another, no not really but just like Gizmo she is family and they have been passed around so much. So if all goes well she is a permanent family member. I have 5 toy breeds now and should be getting another Dane to show in the Summer... WOW
We both agree that if she would have stayed with them much longer she would have a heart attack. She was half this size when I picked up Gizmo several months ago. She can hardly breathe and struggles to lay down and get up. She resembles a tiny pot bellied pig. She is pitiful.
Sophie that we have nicknamed Piggy
