I don't want to spend that much on food a month but I guess I can swing it if I buy less clothes and focus more on food. Sometimes THK has specials where you can buy 1 get 1 box free. And perhaps if I feed it exclusively, we will have less vet visits?
I would guess that it would end up with less vet bills in the end. It is a very clean food. If you can't afford to do it for all of your dogs, doing it just for Lola would work too. A quality canned food would be good also.
Douglas has been having a terrible year for allergies. Very itchy, chewing his feet and legs and flaking all over. He was diagnosed with epilepsy a while ago as well. To go with all that his patellas are dreadful and his trachea is collapsing, and he's allergic to chicken!
He's also missing two teeth and prone to issues. Brushing and dental chews have been able to keep it under control though. He's also so bald he has to wear sunscreen.
I just feel like he's falling apart on me sometimes. But he's such a bright, loving, happy little soul. With his meds and supplements and other management, he has a good quality of life and his symptoms are under control, but it still is hard to know he is so sick. He is a poster child of what is wrong with back yard breeders. I know he was once a beautiful red puppy someone bought on a whim, and then they hurt him and abandoned him and now he's just falling apart.
I would not trade him for the world. But I wish he did not have to suffer for some human's greed.
