Smile Introduction!? And piccys!

So the past couple of days me and Pablo have just been chilling about enjoying the peace and quiet spending the last few days together before Neeva comes on Monday! So was snapping some cute pics.

I'm so excited for her to become part of the family but also a bit nervous to see how Pablo copes as he is totally spoiled especially off his Daddy.. So I'm asking you ladies how should I handle the first introduction any tips would be fantastic!!

The most pathetic face of all time award goes to this little face….

Sucking up to me because dads at work!

When will daddy get home… !?

How exciting!

When I brought Bentley home I made it a point not to disrupt Beverly's normal routines and freedoms (on the good advice of people on this forum). She still got the run of the house during the day while Bentley stayed in his puppy play pen.

At first Beverly acted sad and I was afraid she wouldn't ever play with me again! but then one day she just stuck her bum in the air in a play pose with Bentley and they have been best friends since! They eat and drink out of the same bowl even though they have their own, they play together constantly, and they even clean each other's ears, which is adorable.

I think in no time Pablo will warm up and realize how much fun having a doggie playmate is! he might sulk a little at first but the main thing I learned was to give them time. Don't force it and they will warm up to each other.

Oh, and I make sure to carve out time each day where it is just me and Beverly. We will go to bed a little early and read a book in bed (well I read, she naps, lol), I will take her for a quick car ride, anything to show her she is still my special little baby.

best of luck and I can't wait to see pictures!

I bet it's been nice having some peace and quiet haha bet you are so excited to get neeva home, how many weeks will she be on Monday?
Lush photos by the way :* you look gorgeous, and of course Pablo is adorable!
I've been hinting at my hubby that we should get Millie a friend, I wouldn't worry I'm sure Pablo will love her just as much as you and your other half love her... When introducing her just try to give equal attention, hopefully she will see him as a brother straight away since she will be used to being surrounded by her actual brothers. Since neeva will be really young it shouldn't be too intimidating for Pablo

Oh I'm so excited having a Girl apart from me in the house lol!
Luckily Pablo LOVES other dogs he actually cries when we pass a dog in the street he's desperate to say hello so I think having a play mate will be fab for him!
i've still got his pen from when he was a baby so I think I'll do that! He is a total daddies boy though I don't think he would care much if I was giving more attention to Neeva He basically uses me as a replacement for when My man is at work until he gets home then I'm cast aside lol!! Thanks so much for the advice! Trust me ill be bombarded everyone with photos I'm totally crazy dog woman.

She will be approaching 12 weeks when we get her! The breeder has been fab and all her parents are fantastic natured she's so chilled out which is polar opposite to Pabs he's mental And thank you babe! Totally look the polar opposite today woke up really unwell looking like death warmed up I would totally get little millie a friend it'll be so rewarding I think would you get a boy or girl? I think it'll go alright Pabs has a great nature with other animals plus its a girl so he'll more interested in girlfriend material and sister material ha! He met an in season chihuahua the other week and I swear he was trying to seduce her with this ridiculous little dance he was doing in front of her, totally nuts

I agree! While I have only ever had one dog at a time it was always the cat that was already here when we introduced a new dog. So, when Dorothy came to us in April I made sure that my 15 year old cat was STILL the family matriarch. I made it very clear to Dorothy that Grazie (the cat) ruled the roost and she was NOT to be nipped at, chased or otherwise tormented.

It did take a few weeks of constant 'No's!' to Dorothy but she figured it out pretty fast.

We have a part time cat (neighbours cat that basically lodges with us) She's not even ours and when she's in she rules cats are hilarious they genuinely think they are royalty I find it so entertaining she will come in and basically treat Pablo like a peasant and he obeys and as long as he gets a wee cuddle from her he's happy.

Ah 12 weeks is alright! I got Millie at 9 weeks, that was because I was very eager to get her though haha was so excited!
Good to hear that the breeders have been good, where did you find little neeva?
That's the thing I wouldn't be able to decide on a girl or boy because I was wanting to breed Millie when she gets abit older and I wouldn't want her to breed with her brother I would want to take her to a stud. But I'm not sure id want another girl it's something to think about I love the idea of having a beige coloured boy though hehe! Omg what dance did he do?! Hahah! When Millie is trying to get my attention she does this like bull scratch as if she's about to charge haha!
By the way where do you do most of your shopping for Pablo/neeva?

I got her from a breeder literally down the road from us I didn't even know she was there until I seen her ad online but she cares so much for her dogs she's got 9 of them its really nice though having a breeder who isn't just in it for the cash! she likes to have the pups fully vaccinated before she hands them over I'm so impatient too I'm desperate to have her! I think boy and girl is a great combo, i was thinking of getting another male at first but settled on a little girl. My boyfriend wants to stud pablo we've already got 2 people with their female chi's wanting him when he's of age to which the bf has the typical male mentality of "my boy is getting some " Its a lot of work though I was trying to explain to him breeding should be done to benefit the breed in positive ways and he's totally clueless. Pabs has had all the bloodwork done and health checks so I know he's in great health but Im still on the fence!

Oh id love to see millie doing that, so cute! Pablo genuinely scares dogs away he does this stupid little dance where he spins about and sometimes hell go on his hind legs and jump and you can see the other dog thinking "wtf is this creature doing"
Millie would have gorgeous pups though and I do think it would such a rewarding experience but I'm that much of a loony any potential pup owners I'd want to come to their home and check them out
I do a lot of their shopping on etsy its fantastic for small dogs!! And we live near this industrial estate which has the usual stuff in it but they opened a Pet Hut and omg its amazing its just filled with everything your dog could want I was so impressed! But my mum genuinely see's Pablo as her grand child and whenever she comes to visit she's bought him so much stuff I think she's realised i wont be having children just dogs so she just treats him like a baby
