Sandy had his second round of shots, vet told us it was ok to take him out. We are still cautious and don't want them waking everywhere on the island. We didn't let them touch the ground. Sandy stayed on our beach towel and Ewa stayed in her playpen or one of our laps. They watched all the people & we exposed the babies to the sound of the crashing waves. Chelu did the usual sunbathing and we had to stop him from jumping into the water. This beach has strong currents and the water would pull him into the ocean. Harley stayed close to Ewa and looked as if she was on alert mode watching everyone. She has become such a protective mother over her babies.
My husband and I laugh how we baby them so much. Don't get me wrong we spoil our seniors too, but this second time around with our puppies we are enjoying every moment.
Fifteen years ago we were raising our children (at the time they were 9 & 6 yrs old). Life seemed to be running on fast forward at then time. Now that we live in Hawaii, we have a laid back attitude.
It is entertaining and fun to expose the puppies to new things. Ewa is our dare devil, she has no fear of anything. She wanted to jump out of my husband's arms and looked as if she wanted to run to the waves. Sandy stayed close to me and jumped at the crashing sound of the waves, while I reassured him everything was ok. Sandy wasn't sure what to do with the sand he would sniff it, tap it but wouldnt leave the towel. We had to stop him from licking the sand. I had to clean his face from all the sand. I now wish I took a picture of his Sandy face. Below is a pic of Sandy at the beach.
