Default Broken Elbow and Coffee!

Just when I hoped that I had finished being 2016's whipping girl, I fell over onto concrete and opened my elbow to the bone, chipping bone with muscle off the bone and needed surgery and a Hospital stay. Luckily Craig was around to look after the animals but they are missing their daily walks because I can't do anything if a random dog appears out of nowhere. They've had to make do with less fun outings to the coffee shop. 😕

I have to say that I love using a handbag carrier at the coffee shop. The dogs use it as a crate and random people who would just pat Nibbler if he was on a mat on the ground won't put their hand into a handbag. It's brilliant!! 😀

On the plus side, I'm already partially dressed for Halloween as long as I want to go as a Mummy! I hope this finds you all having a beautiful weekend.

Oh Geez!!! Just what you wanted for Halloween! I'm so sorry. Glad you have some sense of humor about it. Hope the pain is better. Lots of p.t. to come to get that elbow back into service. Time heals all, but can be a bitter medicine! My old boss, a MD, used to say the worse medicine he could prescribed was 'tincture of time'. It works. Glad Craig was there.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, the tincture of time is bitter medicine indeed but it helps to laugh about it since there is nothing to do but wait. It's raining today so we haven't had any outings. The dogs are merrily using their interactive food toys though and don't seem too bothered.

My goodness sounds like you've had a bit of a rough patch! Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Lol I love Nibbler's face in that picture...he seems like part of him loves being in your handbag and part of him is not sure what the heck is going on

Thanks. I got the stitches out and cast off today so now it's just waiting for the muscle to recover and getting full range of motion again. I nearly spilled coffee all over me before I realised that sipping isn't a movement I can do just yet. 😂

Yes, poor Nibs wanted to settle in the bag but I was holding a treat trying to get the photo. He didn't understand if I wanted him in or out of the bag. Poor boy. I'm hoping we'll get an actual walk done tomorrow, that's much more fun than sitting around coffee shops.

Well, that sucks!

Glad the stitches are out and the cast is off at least.

Thanks. Yes, it feels like it's all moving in the right direction now so that's good. 😊
