yes, I posted pics right after I got Oobi, under "chi questions" ...the thread is "breathing problems with chihuahuas" if you want to see. He was very sad the first week or so....
But here is his lazy butt this morning, I literally had to drag him out of bed. He would snooze all day if I let him, the lazy thing!
I will probably start a thread showing a few pics of my pet portraits, I did one recently that was auctioned off on ebay to raise $ for DogsDeserveBetter ( a group that is dedicated to ending the practice of dogs chained up 24/7 )
What I did was give them a sample portrait for bidders to see, and after seeing an example of my work, bidding started on a pet portrait to be done for the winner of THEIR dog. A lady in California with a wolf hybrid was the winner. I believe it raised about $400, which is about $200 more than what I would have charged for a portrait. I was thinking of seeing if I can do the same for a chi rescue group in the spring when I will have a lighter class schedule....maybe I could do a little painting of your guy to use as the example, and you could have the painting for free for allowing me to use his image....? I haven't even approached chi rescue, they may not even be interested, but if you wouldn't mind doing that, that is what would be in it for you and it is certainly for a good cause. Using such a pretty dog as a subject, with such an expressive face, will make for a great subject and will bring in more bidders! And that would help get more chi's like my little Oobi into good homes. Everyone - including me - loves a puppy but Oobi is such a sweetheart, and even tho I didn't train him myself and he came to me with some issues, he is turning out to be a great pet with lots of potential, as much as any puppy!
Well, think about it and let me know. I probably won't be doing it till spring, if at all.
And here is Oobi on this cold December morning....
