Default Bad news

A couple days ago I posted pictures of our new puppy to be under the thread "Baby Puppy." Well I think we have deciede not to get him. There's no doubt that he is a cute little pup but my mom is having to consider health issues as well. All four of the puppies from that litter have started to foam at the mouth due to sugar problems. The smallest two (including the one we were adopting) have had seizures. The breeder thinks the will be able to become stabilize one day but she has extended the adoption date by two or three months. By then he will have bonded with her family, not to mention will be about 6 months old. So the breeder said we can get him later or we can chose another. My mom is worried that he will not be healthy so she is looking at others. This one is of unusual colors but he will onlybe 3.5 lbs full grown and has a great personality. At first my mom was unsure if she liked his coloring but he is starting to grow on her. Please feel free to offer up opinions.

I tend to agree, may-be possible complications later on in life and that can be so awful as you have become used/love the puppy/dog by then. It is a hard one but I suggest you go with your head as well as your heart.

Good luck, keep us posted.

I think it is gorgeous. You know once that little pup is in your arms you won't care what color it is once it looks up at you with it's sweet eyes!

that pup is gorgous. the color will change though. that is a sable and they tend to lighten up to almost blonde. they are beautiful colors. you should go to the search at the top of the page and type in "then and now pics" you wont believe the changes this little guys can go through.

I think he is a cutie. I personally love the coloring, he is a light brown with sabling, it looks that way in the picture. Now keep in mind some pups change drastically in color, a lot of sables get lighter as stated above. I would go more on the personality than looks, but IMO he's a real looker. Smart choice on no taking the other pup, even though he is cute a lifetime of problems could really break your bank, not to mention your heart.

I think you're doing the right thing. Better to get a healthy pup!
