WOW! My aunt's dog, Canelita, had her pups today! I totally missed the birth... by the time she called me, 2 of them were already born.
So, I've yet to see puppies be born other than on TV. But, I did get a couple of photos of her with her babies
Also, I have a question. My aunt and uncle don't want to touch the puppies, so they dont know the gender and really want to know. Should they just not touch them until Canelita gets more comfortable.. or.. what?
I'll let my aunt and uncle know about the great comments from you all!
Ya know, they weren't expecting her to have them until the first week of June and they were actually out of town when she first started feeling uncomfortable. My aunt says when they got home, she heard Canelita whimpering.
It is fine for you to touch the pups, infact they need weighing everyday for a week (to see if they are gaining weigh or not) then I used to weigh them once a week after that unless I was worried about any of them. I think the thing is to keep them all nice warm and quiet for the first few weeks.
Wow does one of the puppies look blue?..heehee here I go again.
They should wash there hands and use anti bacteria stuff. Then pet the mom and pick them up only a few inches from her. cause she is going to be really protective. If u see something sticking out near there tummy near the umbilicalcord(boy), if not there should be something lower sticking out(girl) wish them good luck!
those pics made me really happy!!!
mom looks so happy/proud and the babies are cuter than ever!
