Default doc says sasha is overweight!

Who would have thought the little unhealthy dog we got from the shelter would end up in three short months being overweight! She weighed 9.2 pounds today at the vet! She was just 6 I believe when we got her. He said teasingly to go home and put her on the treadmill.

The little sweetie does look a bit too heavy, but it's pretty easy to get them to trim down. If you're giving any treats...STOP! Use green beans or carrots as treats, and she will thank you for it. Most doggy treats are loaded with calories, and we don't realize how quickly these little ones can pack on the weight

i had chihuahuas growing up and one of the pups charlotte grew to be huge and was fed exactly the same as her parents who were tiny and the she never had any problems at all although she did fall ill one day and we took her to the vets who later phoned when we were out to say that the best thing was to put her down as there was nothing they could do, as it was my uncle was staying with us and told them not to do anything until we came home. when we got home and phoned the vet she was alot better and lived an extra 8 years after. i think some chihuahuas just turn out larger than others even when they come from small parents and eat the same, as long as he is healthy thats the main thing.
