Talking Our RAW Chicken Thigh Experiance

So I picked up some chicken thighs for Chicco and Carrera to try, the size bone on each thigh was a little smaller then a drum stick bone. I split the bone in half for them, then gave them each 1/4 of the meat on the thigh. Tomorrow they will each of the other 1/4's which have no bone in them. I bought 4 thighs total and cute each into 4 servings, which may be too much or too little but this was just a trial. I plan to give them just meat for the next couple days, no bones, since they had a good portion of bone today. I also bought chicken gizzards to give them later in the week as well. They both went to town on it, Chicco of course finished first, and had no problems with the bone. Carrera growled at Chicco when he tried to get it-but she has every right to because he always takes her food! She growled at me a little bit which isnt normal, but we will work on that. They were extra hungry today so that may be the reason. Don't mind the mess on the blanket, that is all from Carrera, next time I have to remember to lift all rugs and bedding. All in all it was a good experiance, we'll see how their stool comes out but its already been an hour since they eat and no problems so far
heres the pictures and video...

here are the portions-

the rest of the meat for the rest of the week, after taking the pic i trimmed some of the pieces up and made another serving so that I had an even amount

Oh yeah, Carrera and Chicco LOVED that raw chicken thigh! The video's are great. I really love seeing how other chi's eat their raw.

It does get messy. I am training mine to "Stay on the blanket" when I feed them. They already know their food is coming when they see me with the cream colored blanket. The minute the blanket hits the floor they are all on it waiting for their food.

Good job Carrera an Chicco! I am so happy they like their food.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! Can't wait to see how they process the food. I can't believe how Brody's little system has adjusted. Sometimes he only poops once a day! And it's really firm and small. That's nice. Isn't it incredible and amazing to watch them enjoy their food? Brody never wanted to eat. At all. Now he is eating and enjoying it. That, alone, makes it worth it for me! Not to mention the health effects of no doggy odor, no bad breath, clean white teeth, etc.

YAY!!!!

Is there any need to worry about them getting salmonella or worms from eating raw meats? Just curious because I know us humans can.

theres a post in the questions sections about the Natures Variety Raw Medallions, this has been an on going discussion about the benefits of raw feeding. Raw bones to do not splinter, only cooked bones do, raw bones are great for our doggies! And you do not need to worry about salmonella because their digestive tract is much shorter then ours leaving no time for anything to come up. I suggest reading the post and jumping on the band wagon, you wont regret it!
