Wow, what a fun choice. There are advantages to both..... a baby puppy is fun because you get to watch them grow up, but you do have to deal with all the potty training issues and manners. An older puppy is great because you don't have to invest all the work in puppy training, but you've missed some of those cute baby stages.

I think, if it were me, I'd go visit both. Sit on the floor and play with them and talk to the breeders. I think the choice will be clear once you spend time with them in person.

The problem is, both breeders live over 2 hours away from me... so I'll only get to meet them when I pick the puppy up

If you bond with them both, I'd do number one in a heartbeat. I love the older ones. JMO.

I still think that's what I'd do. You are looking at adding a member of your family that will be with you for the next 15-20 years hopefully. I'd invest a 2 hour drive on a weekend and go see puppy A and then do the same with puppy B. I know it's a lot of driving, but it would be worth it.

If that's impossible, maybe you could have the breeders get a video on each one? That might be asking alot, but you can tell a LOT from seeing the pups in person and how they interact with other dogs, people, etc. I think it would be almost impossible to pick a puppy based on pictures alone.

If I couldn't meet them, I'd still do number one. As long as you know it's a reputable breeder. See if she'll send you a video so you can see the personality. I love the puppies but number one is killin me!!! LOL. I don't think you can lose either way in this decision!!!
