Well, we finally graduated from the little Graco playpen. The girls were getting too big and energetic for it, and I found this great deal on Amazon (think it's original price now though). It's a huge metal pen...easily folds for storage...for 37 dollars and free shipping.

I used it as a transition pen to make sure they understood that they are to pee on their pee pad and NOT on the floor. Started on lino, graduated to carpet, and now they're left in the house free. Only problem is that though they're really good about peeing on the pads, I'm still finding solid stool next to the pad instead of on it. Can't figure out if they're depositing it on carpet or just dragging it off the pads while going in for a poo snack. It's gross, but I haven't found anything to stop them from doing it.

If they're like mine, they start out pooping on the pee pad but they "travel" when they poop, and if they travel in a circle they'll stay on the pee pad. But if the circle gets too big, or it's more a rectangle, then the end result is oftentimes a nice little deposit nowhere NEAR the pee pad lol!

I plan to keep it around. Use it for potty reinforcement training, if need be. Plus, it's great to take with me to friends and family as most of my family are cat people and my friends have children. It's fairly tall, so it would keep most of their kids out. Funny, huh? Most people assume that I'm trying to keep the dogs away from the kids. I just want to say: Yeah, my chi might bite your kid...and that would be horrible and painful. But your kid (even a two year old) can break my chi's leg, neck, strangle him, bite an ear off, etc...so tell yourself what you want...I'm keeping my dogs safe. Instead, I smile and take credit for being awesome and consciencous. LOL
