Default New honey pics

These are of Honey in her first couple of days home. She has problems with her sight we have discovered, but the light reflected in her eyes the way it should so we aren't sure whether it will get better or not. But she is so well behaved, no accidents yet, just need to order her a couple of hoodies because nothing fits her. She is 8 weeks old and weighs 1.17kg (2lb 6oz)

She can see shadows on the carpet when you wave a toy round and she can smell her toys and follow the squeak but she stumbles into things a little, and she can't find the food even in your hand by her mouth, you have to put it in her mouth. If you walk through the house, she'll follow you then sit down and cry until you call her or clap and she manages to find you again (when you should be in view of her). And when you stand by her pen she stands up in in and looks out the wrong side and cries til you put your hand near her or speak to her.
Sorry lol that was a bit long!

Have you had her checked by a canine opthamologist? There are several things that can cause this, and quick treatment is essential!! Went through something similar with Brody, so I know how scary it can be. Have they checked her for PRA or SARDS? Eye problems are something you cannot wait on!!

Well the vet checked her yesterday but said to see if it gets better...Are there problems that she could have but for the lights to reflect like they should and look normal? I don't know I've never experienced this before.

I would get a referral to a canine eye specialist right away. If she has a condition that could be repaired, such as a retina problem - she can regain her sight WITH TREATMENT. Without treatment, she could lose her vision completely. Very odd that your vet was willing to wait! Vision problems should be treated as URGENT, and not just a wait and see.

I assume you mean that her pupils react to light appropriately. That is fine, but she is having problems with her eyes so SOMETHING is wrong somewhere inside the eye, or within the optic nerve that transmits images to the brain. These problems don't get better on their own usually.

Have you spoken with her breeder? Do hereditary eye diseases run in her pedigree?

I can't overemphasize how important it is to get this thoroughly checked out by a specialist or her vision could deteriorate into blindness and that is NOT reversible.
