I guess most read the thread about Gia's fear of rain & thunder. Gia has horrible panic attacks from it, as do some of the other Chi's (and non Chi's, lol) here on the board. Tracy posted a link and some info. on putting them in a very tight garment that is supposed to help calm them. We tried a T, but it wasn't really tight enough to produce "pressure," so I got a brain storm and made one out of a child’s boot sock. The material is like kids tights. Like what they'd wear under a tutu for Ballet. The sock has a gathered top that hugs to your leg, so it works nicely for being tighter for those teeny necks. I just cut leg holes, cut the bottom of the sock off, and slipped it on. If you have a bigger Chi, you can try an adult sock, or adult tights. Be careful not to cut the leg holes too big like I did.
It won't leave enough material across the chest. Anyway, this really did work to settle Gia some. These pics are from the next morning when she wanted out of the playpen after spending almost an entire day in there. But she did lay down and stop shaking when I put it on her. She was an absolute wreck beforehand. It's not a miracle cure, but it really does help. Hope this helps other's.
