It is just gone 6.15pm and what a long afternoon its been, just got back from Birmingham and seen to the horses, then it was feed Jake before getting sat down myself to tell you all about "Red Dog"
Red Dog... come on what or who is Red Dog...
Okay Red Dog is the temporary name given to the puppy I went to see today until he is registered with the KC.
He is adorable, the breeder brought him in to see me and RD was very shy and timid, seemingly it was also his first time allowed in the front room so it was all new to him. He sat in my lap and snuggled in not knowing what to do. The breeder showed me him standing and what a beautiful stand he has. All limbs nice and straight, a perfect bite, ears are starting to stay up and he has the most appealing cute face.
The breeder brought a little girl in and he soon brightened up and was trotting around on the carpet. This is when I saw his fantastic paces, he is so light on his feet and covers the ground very evenly and nicely.
His tail sits nice and round and comes to the side slightly but the breeder assured me that this was not a fault in showing, it is only if the tail has a kink in it which RD's doesn't.
I saw the father but not the mother and to be honest I meant to ask where the mother was but totally forgot doh!!!
I have also seen his pedigree and there are loads of champion dogs in his ancestry.
I also seen the original puppy I was told about and he is gorgeous as well and is fawn with a black muzzle but it was RD that I was interested in.
The breeder did say if for any reason he thought RD would not make it in the show ring I could always consider taking this other one.
Ok the photo, its not a great one as little RD had already been out twice and had just eaten and was asleep when I asked the breeder if I could take a photo. So RD is a little sleepy and the colour of his Iris's is because of my camera. Also the angle of the camera was not very good.
So here he is and honest opinions are taken ....
He has the most gentle expression and this photo goes no where near to doing him any justice. In fact looking at the photo it makes him look older and grumpy when he isn't.
What I also liked was the breeder answered all of my questions and not once made me feel like I asked stupid questions. I have asked him if in the future I need any help / guidance could I contact him and he immediately said yes.
So if all goes well I will be collecting RD at the end of July which I know will be upon me in no time.
