Poor Trigger :(

Trigger got neutered today...poor boy. He's beside himself. He also got a dew claw removed that had grown back :-( He won't walk on that paw...I feel so bad for him :(

He's wearing a little zoot suit made out of a baby onesie to keep him from licking. He has already been wayyy too interested in licking. We have a cone for him but I hate them and don't want him to have to wear it unless we're gone.

He goes between sleepy and really strung out lol, shown here. Never seen him look like this ever before. He honestly seems like he's in a lot of pain and it breaks my heart,...the painkillers they gave him, I don't think are effective.

Oh no Trigger - they got you from one end to the other!! :( He DOES look like he's hurting...and scared. He's probably very confused as to why he's feeling like such doo. I'm sure tomorrow he'll be feeling better.

I hated the cones too but as you know but we've had to use one for Marley. The one I got is MUCH better & more comfortable than the ones the vets sell because it's lined and I don't feel bad leaving it on him. He's only tried to get it off a couple times - otherwise he's been playing quietly with his toys & sleeping. I'm glad the onesie is working for Trigger right now - hopefully it will keep working & you won't have to use it at all!

Marley will be thinking of Trigger....his recovery buddy. ;)

Aww what a shame poor little boy.Get better soon.
If you don't mind me asking why do you remove the front dew claws.I have heard of doing the back ones, but the front ones all of mine have front dew claws but no back ones.I was just wondering about this.

They can scratch at and damage their eyes inadvertently with them, but I think for the most part its just considered the general norm around these parts, they do it when puppies are 5 days old. If he'd had both still there, I prob would've left them but the one that grew back was all gnarled and gross and clearly hurt him and so bye bye it went.

oh ok.It is the norm around here for the back ones. But had never heard of the front ones.Ok makes sense why you got his removed though.
