I can only second the harness. My poor baby Locco is only 5 months old and he already was at risk of a colpased trac because of the "collar" his former owner had on him. It was actually a harness but it was so small that both pieces where around his neck. It was propbaly the same as the breeder put on him when he was born. Thats how small it was.
One part of the harnes had a clip so i could open it but the other part had no clip at all. It was so tight i had to use scissors to get it off him. Fot the first two weeks i was really worried about him as he was caughing and gagging so much. I did a lot of reading on it and spoke with my vet who did a thorrow check for any damage on his trac when i went. He is doing ok now but i have to be very careful with him. He still gets caughs and gags from time to time, a bit more than normal i would say but not anywhre near as it was in the begining. As it is already a bit damaged i have to take extra care not to have any irretants around the appartment. I vacum 2-3 times a week, i dust every other day, make sure to use non chemical cleaning products (steam cleaner comes in handy) etc. If i dont vacum for a week i notice he start to chaugh a bit more etc. I get so angry with the girl who had him before me, how you an be so ignorant to the dogs well being, not ask or read up if you suspect there is a problem. When i told her he had these problems she just told me she thought it was because of the food but she never ever checked with the vet
And Lola is adorbale
I use car belts for my little Lady when she go with me in a car. It is really handy as she can't jump around in the car and she are secure in case there is an accident. It is a harness which you clip just as you do a regular car belt. I still need to get one for Locco, but he has not had to be in a car with me yet
