Ok, so last weekend i decided to get myself a sewing machine. Never had one in my life before and the most advanced thing i ever made before is a pillow case. However, since we have had such a crappy summer here with rain more or less every day, and i haven't been able to find rain jacket for Locco, i decided to make one myself.
So, this morning, with help from my very patient girl, Lady, i started to make a pattern. I was literally pinning newspaper pieces on to her while she just stood still waiting for me to be done. I love that little girl! To make a long story short, i had gone down town yesterday to buy some fabric, including water resistant fabric and i also made use of an old blanket for warmth. I have never quilted anything in my life, nor have i done any binding or button holes before but...i wanted the jacket done and Youtube is the place to go. I decided to make a revisable jacket and used a wool fabric for the other side of the jacket. Can you tell i am a bit proud of my achievement
I will have to make the girdle that goes under Locco's stomach a bit narrower as it hm...tucks away his little "pinkler" and i think i should make it a bit shorter for him, but i think it is well worth making another one that will fit him better. With a few adjustments today's jacket fit Lady as a glove so i guess they will have matching outfits when it is raining.
Now i am on the lock out for some reflective fabric for use when it is dark. Please, if you have a minute i would appreciate your feed back of the design etc.
Wish you all a great day/evening
