Default Roxy's puppies update

Hi all, as some of you know Roxy's babies are 3 weeks now. Today i took smallest one to vet and he wasnt hopeful
He isnt putting on any weight and vet feels it might be his kidneys not processing food so its just going straight through him so its been a hard day. Ive brought him home to give him another week with me feeding him every 2 hours aswell as Roxy feeding to see if he puts on weight if he doesnt vet has advised me to have him put to sleep, im very sad about this but everyone i spoken to has sai its just one of those things and ive done all i can. But still doesnt make it less sad im hoping he will brighten up and prove everyone wrong. On a brighter note the other 3 are doing well and mumy Roxy is doing a fab job. They will soon be running around like mad things which im excited about x

Will keep you updated on little man lets fingers crossed xxxx

I'm so sorry about your lil guy. I had a lil fella' that wasn't gaining weight, and after 2 weeks we found out that he had heart failure. He lived for 9 weeks, but was born with the defect. One of the ventricles to his heart was narrowed (we had an ultrasound and necropsy done), so the blood wasn't pumping to his heart correctly. Because of this he wasn't thriving/gaining weight. He ate very little. When he went into heart failure, we were given the choice to treat him symptomatically until he eventually passed (very poor prognosis), or have him put to sleep. We chose to put him to sleep. It was one of the worst days of my life. I hope your little guy beats the odds and proves everyone wrong! We will be praying for him.

Great to hear the other pups and Mom are doing well!!! xxxxx

Its just so sad when the vet was talking today he said he wasnt hopeful i just felt he has come this far to just give up on him i think if it was his decision we would of there and then but i said to hubby if he isnt in any pain which i cant say he isnt but from how he is etc i dont think so why not give him another week. Just wish i could help him instead of just waiting not sure whats worst xxx

If he doesn't seem to be in any pain, give the lil guy some more time. It's worth a shot! He may come through, you just never know. You will never feel at ease unless you give him more time. You'll always wonder if you did the right thing. So my opinion, for what it's worth, is see if he makes a turn around. Everything is possible!!! xxxxx

Chase was never in any pain (that we know of. No signs of pain) before he actually went into heart failure, even though he had the defect that kept him from thriving from birth. We knew once his pain started. You could just tell by his actions. I immediately took him in to the Vet, and from there straight to the hospital, and made our choice from there.
