Default Pet insurance?

What kind do you have if you are in the US and has it benifited you? How does it work also?

I guess this would be considered insurance in some ways...
Thru our vet's office I paid an up front fee then a monthly fee and it covers all vaccines, neuter, all office visits & a 15% discounts on medications & other procedures.

Cooper's mom, do you have coverage through them, and have you used it? After Tansy's $2,312.09 surgery (sigh) for a broken leg, I definitely want to sign up somewhere!

Yes I do... and yes I have. LOL

Cooper had an accident earlier this year and needed surgery for his knee - luxating pattella. The surgery was about $600 and they covered it. For all surgeries excluding luxating patella, they cover after 14 days of having the policy in force. For the knees, they require 12 months. But they're very nice and helpful... and it really comes in handy to be reimbursed for expensive procedures (and even the yearly visits).

I have both Cooper and OmaKitty signed up and for both of them, it costs me about $50 a month. I have the superior plan and added the vaccination and double cancer benefits, so we have the most expensive plan they offer. You can do a rate quote online to see how much it would cost.

I just signed Corky up last week but due to his allergies it is hung up in underwriting now. I talked to them yesterday and was told I would get the insurance but allergies would be a pre-exisiting condition. I feel it is going to be worth in for sure! Check it out and get the free rate quote. I got the plan like Cooper has with everything and it is $25 or so a month for Corky.

Pet insurance is well worth the investment. It is inexpensive and great peace of mind. We got ours through VPI, my.petinsurance.com. Ther are many different options and coverages.
