Default Reverse Sneezing?

I've heard this more then once on here, and not sure exactly what it sounds like.. Sometimes Sera get excited and it sounds like shes snorting and breathing in.. lasts a min or so then goes away, is that a reverse sneeze? i've heard my friends chihuahua do it too -- sounds similar.. why do they do that? I hope its normal!

Yes, that's it and yea it's normal.
Why do they do it? It has something to do with the flap that covers the soft pallet being stuck. All you need to do is get them to swallow and it will stop.
I think Nate (ILoveSadie's boyfriend) posted an explaination a while back. Maybe if you do a search of the board you can find it or look in the articles section.

My tinkerbell does this too. I know its not a really big deal but I hate how it sounds. Its still sounds like it hurts or something.

Zola gets it fairly often. The first time he had it I totally flipped. Now Im fine with it, I know how to calm him and myself down. He gets grumpy after it happens. Becuz Im the one petting him at the time its like he think im the one making it happen to him. Silly boy he is
