Default Hiccups??

Is it normal for chi to have hiccups? I've never seen my older two chi have hiccups. My baby has hiccups almost everyday?? The first day I adopted him he had hiccups at the vet office. The vet just said awww he has hiccups. He will have hiccups in his sleep too. At first I would wake him up thinking he was get glycemic and needed to eat. My husband has been telling me to stop waking him up when he has hiccups To just let him sleep. Sandy will look at me like what's wrong?
He eats 4-5 times a day and sleeps through most of the night, will only cry when he needs to go out to poddy. I can almost say he getting there with houstraining. I haven't been using the pee pads, my older chis were so hard to transition from the pee pads to outside and use to use my rugs as pee pads instead of going outside. That all changed when we installed a doggie door, but of course our baby is too small to climb through the doggie door.
Wish I could post of pic of my baby but i haven't figured it out??

Ok, I went off the subject. I feel like a new chi owner with my baby, it's been 15 years since I had a puppy and I don't remember Chelu having hiccups when he was Sandy's age.

Dorothy has them on occasion. It's so funny to see her hiccup.

It's very, very common for puppies to have hiccups. Have a look at this:

Why does my puppy hiccup?

My puppy sure seems to hiccup a lot these days. Is this normal?

It is completely normal for a puppy to have hiccups off and on throughout the day. Hiccups sometimes start after eating a meal, but can occur at any time and last for up to several minutes. A hiccup is defined as a non-controllable spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm, causing a beginning inspiration of air that is suddenly stopped by closure of the glottis. The diaphragm is a muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen. It enables the lungs to bring in air during inspiration.

When the diaphragm contracts, the air is quickly drawn in, but the glottis, a part of the "voice box," suddenly cuts it off.

Puppy hiccups will come and go. Eventually puppies grow out of them.

My Jo had a lot of hiccups as a small baby too, and I hovered and fussed and worried until I did I some reading and "remembered" that I'd gone through this with my others as well but had forgotten (it had been several years since I had a small puppy). He's 7 months now and has not had hiccups in quite a few months. It'll pass
