Default Diarrhoea

So I don't know what's going on, possibly had some mild cheddar cheese to set him off at puppy training but he's had diarrhoea since last night.
Walking in the kitchen this morning was like a mole has dug up plenty of times, was everywhere!
He's still his bouncy self, but come lunch time I've noticed a bit of mucus like in his diarrhoea.
He is due his worming flea etc next week.
I've just started to give him bland food - chicken and white rice at tiny amount so seems fine.
Seems a bit more fascinated with his bum, paws and ears which makes me think its the cheese that is making him ill.
I don't know what else it could be? Should I take him to the vet?

If it is just loose stools and he is otherwise healthy I wouldn't worry too much.
Almost definitely the cheese, most dogs are lactose intolerant.
Is he used to eating grains, specifically rice? If he is not adding rice can make things worse, it definitely would with mine. Chicken and rice is only bland and easy to digest if the dog is used to commercial kibble. If he's fed a better diet normally, then it can be worse

You can used canned plain pumpkin to firm up his stool. Just make sure it is plain pumpkin and not the 'pie' mixture.

Thanks a lot!
Will try something else from rice as he isn't touching it anyway. Will try canned pumpkin if I can source it

Canned pumpkin is not easy to find in the UK lol.
I would just feed him his normal food if he is only doing slightly loose stools. Proper diarrhoea is watery, and he would feel unwell in himself. I think it was just too much cheese and he will be fine once it is out of his system.
Cooked chicken makes great high value training treats

It Was watery and everywhere! Even on my curtains, he wasn't well at all that night but has perked up now. I haven't seen any poo yet so waiting to see what it's like before I introduce his kibble again

Oh no poor thing! How is he feeling now? It could definitely be the cheese or something dodgy that he ate. Thankfully my dogs are ok with lactose/dairy, but it's true that many dogs are intolerant to it. Hope he's feeling better now.
