Default female chi problems

hi . I was wondering if any one would know why and how to stop my 1 year old from urinating when ever some one comes to the house . it started with my new girlfriend started coming around. she gets really submissive, and just pees whether shes on the bed floor outside. i think she feels threatened by the girls presence but she also gets alot of affection from both of us i have a male also who has been alittle bit rude to the intruder lol but he's pretty much ok he went thru changes when i got the new dog too. now even after two days with the girl around she gets submissive and pees .i'll be doing laundry or alone the rest of my life if any body can help. thank you

Have you tried ignoring her for a few minutes? This works on some submissive pee-ers.

I agree. When someone comes over that you know that the dog is going to 'leak', then I'd have them come in without even acknowleging the dog. If you want, said person can throw a tiny treat when passing the dog. NO words. Just be patient. This may be a long time training period. Submissive urination is hard to stop. Some puppies out grow this trait.

Why does this girl make your dog leak? No one else? Just wondering.

Mickey LOVES my daughter. He has the submissive peeing totally under control, except when she comes over if she surprises him. Could it be she really likes this friend?

I have a female Chi who pees when anyone comes into the house, even my husband or myself after work. It is an excitement thing for her. Ignoring her has never worked for us. I could ignore her for an hour and then when I go to pet her she will pee. Or she will pee even if we aren't paying attention. So we have a routine now. We say "meet me at the pad" and she runs to her pad, pees, and then we pet her. Even when strangers come over she heads straight for the pad and does her little dribbles there.

Bless her heart! How smart (of both of you).
