Default Ears

Here's Koji's ears in their current state:

I've read they can go up and down during teething, however his have never been fully up, and I've seen loads of baby Chi's his age whose ears were up He's 12 weeks at the moment. The ear that's more up used to be like the one that's down. I did meet his mum and uncle and both of their ears were up, so I'm crossing my fingers! Not that I would love him any less but I would prefer the typical Chi ears.

He's waiting for me to throw his ball here, hence the mad happy grin

What a darling!!!

They'll stand up when they're ready Tinkerbell's ears didn't fully stand up 24/7 until she was 8 years old, I kid you not. The boys both had fully standing ears by the time they were a year old, though I don't recall exactly what age it was for each of them.

Good heavens, I think I'd give up hope by 8 years! Come on Koji don't keep me waiting like that! And thank you, he's my little werewolf

Thanks I am! I went through it last year with our Labrador so I feel a lot more at ease with it all. With our Lab I was like a stressed out mum with her first kid Some things are easier, some things are harder. Our Lab housetrained himself I kid you not, from 8 weeks old. However he was REALLY full on and took a lot of work, otherwise he would turn destructive to entertain himself. With Koji I have to keep eagle eyes on him re: toilet, but he has trained himself to use his puppy pad pretty reliably. Trouble is that is only the case upstairs where he spends most of his time with me (I work from home). When he's downstairs I have him go outside but he hasn't quite grasped asking yet, plus he doesn't particularly like the cold and wet (England here) so I don't think he's all that motivated I also think the puppy pad is confusing him because the times he's had accidents downstairs have been on the little rugs in the kitchen, which he probably confuses with a puppy pad. I should probably put one downstairs so he can use that if I don't get him outside in time. I'm just a bit worried about confusing him because ultimately I would prefer if he went outside.

I definately would put a puppy pad downstairs. Easier for you and the puppy.

I had three chi's and they all did their business inside and when I took them outside they'd go there too!

Thank you for the advice, I've put a second pad area in the kitchen and he's already used it twice this morning, so success!
